Northern Spire Bridge-Sunderland

The Northern Spire Bridge is Sunderland’s newest landmark and is likely to be one of the most photographed bridges in the north east for some time! Rightly so, it’s a magnificent structure and is very photogenic, especially at night. When something new comes around it of course exciting in the photography world but sometimes it can get a bit continuous when all you’re seeing is one subject being continuously posted online. I am too in that bracket. But I don’t post online, I keep to writing and posting my images right here on my blog. The History of the Bridge. The bridge itself has been a long time coming. A total of 13 years actually, I remember seeing in the paper when the designs got released, but financial difficulties stopped the construction. Then in 2015 construction of the bridge commenced. The bridge opened to the public on the 28th August and I knew every man and his dog would be there to take photos, so I waited a few days for the excitement to calm down before I ventured out to see what the fuss was about.     I have seen some fantastic images of this bridge before its…
