The other day I was approached by a company called Gingersnap – who sell a variety of light boxes, neons and letter boards. The light boxes are something I have seen floating about the squares of Instagram but never up close and personal. So I agreed to have a closer look and test it out.
The idea behind a light box is to display messages, whether that be serious or funny, the choices are endless! Each box comes with a set of letters and symbols which are easily slid on and off the box. The model we had has a switch on/off on the side and discreet fixings to the back to be able to wall hang it. It sounds simple right, thats because it really is that simple, but also very fun.
You can use the light box for all types of occasions, weddings, birthdays, christenings and the list goes on, to be able to share messages or use it as a focal point of the decorations. But what about Valentines Day, its fast approaching and men (and women…) will all be panicking about what gifts we can buy for our loved ones. Preferably not the typical cheesy teddy kind or throw away nic nacs that nobody really wants… Well how about a Light Box and display romantic messages around the home for your loved one?!
Take a look at a few of the messages I left around for my missus this past week!
I think to make day to day use of it I am going to fix it to the wall in Zachs bedroom and use it as a night light displaying various messages like the one below! Then when we want to use it for any other occasions it is easily removed – the missus has already got an idea to use it for Elijahs upcoming christening.
The Lightbox itself comes in all different sizes on the website and offers a lot of extras to really let your mind go creative. The box I have here is the landscape box coming in at a reasonable £40. I also have the A4 coloured letters pack which costs an added £10 but comes with lovely pastel coloured letters and a lot more quirky symbols. Take a look on the website to see the different shapes and sizes they have to offer.
So why not impress your other half this Valentines and get them a quirky gift that can be used for many years to come!
