This is probably one of the best Fireworks displays in the North East.
Yes I know the fireworks have ended in most parts of the uk or world but we have new years fast approaching so you might get a change to photograph the fireworks then if you missed out.
Fireworks can be quite difficult to photograph, this was probably one of my best years shooting them to be honest. The image below was taken at the Infinity bridge in Stockton, only the actual fireworks are kind of set off in the same place so it makes it hard to actually get a photo with multiple fireworks in like this.
The best thing to do is take a load of multiple shots and make a composite in photoshop. Ill leave discussing that for now. but basically you layering and moving images around and blend them all together like this.
But of course you dont have to make a composite, you could simply just take single explosions, either way your definitely going to come away with something special. But if you want to know exactly how I made this shot, then please comment or get in touch, im sure i can make a video on it.
Most of the images were shot at about 4 seconds | iso100-iso320 | F9 | @12mm
When shooting these types of images there is certain equipment you must have have, a tripod is a must and your camera of course. thats the main items you need, nothing special.
You can long exposures by trying lightpainting, This can be a fun project to do around the house

18 Nov 2018NOw my question is how you compose the reflections on the water! I’d never get it to be that good. Love the picture though. My firework pics this year just don’t compare. #mysundayphoto

18 Nov 2018Thanks John. I would say it was really easy but it depends on your photoshop skills. It didn’t take long to do either. I will be more than happy to make a video tutorial for you if will help?

18 Nov 2018I’ve played with photographing fireworks before, had some successes but not many. This year I didn’t even try it again as we never went to any decent public displays (at least not whilst it was dry anyway!). Never tried compiling a composite image though. Great shot! #MySundayPhoto

18 Nov 2018Thanks. It can be a hard subject. As all images you see like this are composites so it. An make people think it’s easy. I started with light painting. That’s a good subject to get into. There’s always New Years to get some
